At Home by the Pool 🌸

Our pool has become the heart of our home. We bought our mid-century fixer upper last year, and it’s been a labor of love ever since. The pool was one of the first spaces we brought back to life, and today it’s where our family spends summer days and evenings. Like the rest of the house, the pool carries some of its history. You may notice touches that show its age, and we have long-term renovation plans to give it a full refresh. For now, it’s well cared for, clear, and inviting The pool is L-shaped, with a shallow end that includes a built-in sitting bench, and a deep end that goes down to 10 feet, which is great for diving. We keep the water regularly tested and safe, and we swim in it daily ourselves. The temperature is set around 77°, and heating can be arranged if you’d like it warmer. Because the backyard is surrounded by trees, you may notice the occasional leaf or bit of nature in the water, but it will always be clean, clear, and refreshing. There is a sectional sofa with umbrella shade for lounging, and a poolside basketball hoop if you’re looking for some extra fun. The pool gets the most sunshine from 11 AM to 3 PM, and then shifts into shade from 3 PM to 6 PM, which keeps it comfortable throughout the day. This space is great if you want to relax, enjoy time with friends or family, or simply make memories in a private setting. It’s not designed for large or wild parties, as we live in a residential neighborhood and want to be respectful to our neighbors. We also want to share that our pool has been a meaningful place for a few families we know with kids on the autism spectrum. For them, public pools can be overwhelming, and this space has given them a chance to safely enjoy the water.
